Magnitude of individual beat-to-beat LBF. During isometric muscle contraction with stable target workloads (coefficients of variations <3.1 %), the magnitude of beat-to-beat leg blood flows (LBF) displayed various patterns such as steep (filled circle and empty circle), gradual (filled triangle, empty triangle, empty square, and filled diamond), and biphasic (filled square). A decrease in magnitude was shown in one subject (empty diamond) at 50 % MVC. Most of the individual LBF magnitudes were described as an exponential decay (steep decrease) during muscle relaxation at all target workloads except for one subject (filled square) at 70 % MVC.
