The pooled odds ratios (ORs) for each asthma-associated risk factor were computed using the random-effect meta-analysis, with 95% confidence intervals (95% CIs) also included. Results from the heterogeneity test, including the I² value and the heterogeneity p value (Het P) were also included in the figure. Publication biases were assessed based on the symmetry of funnel plots for each meta-analysis. The asterisk (*) indicates an inconclusive interpretation of the funnel plot because of the small number of studies included in the meta-analysis (n < 10)
