Comparison of PPARγ, miR-34a and miR-143 expression levels between different groups. The PPARγ mRNA levels in (A) VAT and (B) SAT of normal-weight, overweight, obese, and morbidly obese groups; miR-34a levels in (C) VAT and (D) SAT of normal-weight, overweight, obese, and morbidly obese groups; and miR-143 levels in (E) VAT and (F) SAT of normal-weight, overweight, obese, and morbidly obese groups. Kruskal–Wallis test was used to compare differences in expression between the four study groups (P value <0.05 was considered significant). To examine differences between every two groups, Mann-Whitney U test with Bonferroni correction was performed (P value <0.01 was considered significant)
